Listen Now: “Ashley On” Podcast with The Hemp Plastic Company’s Greg Dean

Hemp plastics hold amazing promise to both lower CO2 levels and to stop the flow of plastics into our oceans. We are leading the way and know that working our more sustainable hemp products into the existing plastics production flow is a quick way to make a sustainable impact now.

Our very own Greg Dean, Chief Commercial and Operations Officer of The Hemp Plastic Company, discusses our hemp plastics and the impact they can make in the world in this episode of Ashley On, a podcast dedicated to “health and wellness, spirituality and all things new.”

A 30-year veteran of the materials industry, Greg talks about The Hemp Plastic Company’s origins, applications (including in the automotive industry!), the many benefits of hemp plastic and what the future holds for hemp polymers.

Our hemp plastics are a great solution for incrementally increasing sustainability and improving your carbon footprint today. Switching to our hemp-filled plastics results in an immediate 25% to 100% reduction of virgin petroleum-based plastics. That difference is significant and immediately beneficial to the environment.

Greg also touches on one of the other major benefits of hemp: it’s a carbon-negative renewable resource. That means it consumes far more greenhouse gasses than are emitted in its production. Just one ton of hemp can absorb up to 1.6 tons of CO2, making it one of the best carbon sequestration options on the planet.

Our hemp bioplastics and biocomposites make reaping these benefits easy: our materials are available in volume today, have similar properties to traditional plastics and can replace them without significant additional capital or operating expense.
